Dwight E. Morgan, M.A. LPC
Dwight Morgan graduated from the University of Houston at Clear Lake in 1981 with
a major in the Behavioral Sciences/Psychology and became a Licensed Professional
Counselor in 1983. After moving to Dallas, Texas in 1983, he entered a two-year
externship at the Southwest Family Institute, with a clinical focus on family systems.
Dwight has clinical experience in both outpatient and inpatient chemical dependency
treatment, as well as community based mental health. He has also run his own private
practice in Dallas from 1985 to 1996, and a part time practice from 1996 to 2000,
specializing in individual, marital and family practice, as well as relationship
group and couples group therapy.
While having a primary, general systems philosophical
orientation, Dwight’s clinical orientation is brief-solution focused and cognitive-behavioral.
He works closely with the client in a collaborative/consultative manner.
Dwight
also has extensive experience in executive management behavioral health care, both
in the private and public sectors, as well as international consulting/training
experience while a Peace Corps Volunteer to Romania from 2000 – 2002.
Dwight also
co-facilitates adult wilderness retreats three or four times during the year, focusing
on team building, stress reduction, and bridging life transitions.
